What's next...not buying if the card contains the color red?

Why not? I have to agree with most of the others on this one.

Personal preference and style is key to making any product selection,
and I feel comfortable stating that most people probably aren't
bothered by correct spelling while many people are bothered by
incorrect spelling. Why run the risk of alienating your audience?

Granted, there are some products and terms that do work with
misspellings or non-standard English, but I would take a long second
look at an unknown company that used an intentional misspelling. I
don't want cool or trendy. I want functional and usable.

Oh, and as the resident colorblind lurker, yes, if the card used the
color red, I would have to consider that in my decision. It's not
about being picky or having pet peeves. It's about selecting a product
that meets *all* your needs and wants.

Paul is definitely right; there is always an audience to consider in
any product we design. Blatantly misspelling words or using certain
color combinations *will* affect your bottom line. In the end, that's
the only prejudice that matters to the people who sign your paychecks.
