I live in the woods in WI and have a recording studio in my house.
Lately, we've had quite a variety of sounds going on outside, so I've
been recording them. Easy, too. Put a pair of nice mics outside,
back-to-back, and record straight to a CD. No effects, little EQ, and in
January when everything's dead outside, I have summer on the stereo.
I'm going after owls this weekend. We've got a couple of horned owls
that have been talking to each other lately. I hope to get them
recorded.

Subject: Re: Music choices
When at the office I prefer not to play anything, as
I find that music only adds to the audio confusion
of an office rather than masking it for me.
When working at home, I usually just open the
windows. The birds that populate our trees, the
sound of the waves and the foghorn down at the
harbor and the occaisional barking seal offshore
are pretty much all the music I need.
