Hi, Suzanne :-)

I have inherited a project from another division of my company that was
created in RoboHelp X5, but my site is still on version 2002 release 2.

I know that when moving from older versions of RoboHelp to X5, the .mpj
project file is converted to .xpj. What I don't know is if it is possible to
work with this project in RH 2002 or do I need to upgrade? Is there a method
to convert the xpj project file to an mpj product file?

You can't open the .xpj in RH 2002. However, there should be a .hhp
file in the folder, and you *can* open that in RoboHelp. As soon as
you do, an .mpj will be created automatically. (Note: if you've used
browse sequences, glossaries, and...drat...other things that I never
remember right away, you'll have to reassign them...that information
is stored in the .mpj, but not the .hhp.)
