Re: Programs to create a software walk-through?
We have been thinking about buying Captivate but some of this discussion
concerns me. Our work SOE has locked off access to C: and our My Documents
is actually mapped to a network drive so we would never have the option to
work on a local disk. I gather that this makes Captivate unhappy?
Has anyone used a recent version of Viewlet Builder? I used it a few years
ago and rather liked it.

I've used Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Captivate on hundreds of hours worth
of walkthroughs. I've never had a problem with corrupted files or similar.
It's a *very* easy program to learn, but does have some quirks that need to
be kludged around.
Overall? I recommend Captivate over Camtasia...just a better feature set
all around.
*HINT!!! If you're adding voiceovers? Get the sound files *first* then do
your screencast while the sound file is playing.
I've created a great list of do's and don'ts...I should post it somewhere.
Screen Capture = Captivate.
