You are being treated as a slave. Your situation is extremely atypicalI disagree. I see "Me Too" as overworked, but not a slave. Personally, I would rather be inundated than sit around twiddling my thumbs and waiting for the next RIF. Whenever I worked as a lone staff writer (which was most of the time), I would use a white board filled with all of my assigned projects. I would include deadlines (if possible) and whether the doc was in review, out to the printer, etc., plus the Project Manager's or Project Engineer's name.

If someone came in with a new project, it would go to the bottom of the appropriate list. If the person bringing in the new project wanted it done in a hurry, I would simply provide him with a list of PMs in front of his/her project. "Unless they give me the okay to move you to the front, then I can get to your project on such-and-such a date." It usually worked. You'll always find the jerk who is obviously more important than anyone else in the company and will complain to everyone about the lousy support from the TWs, but every company has those. I would also contact one or two of the PMs to confirm they agreed to slip their projects just as a follow up to make sure I wasn't being scammed.
However, if the person bringing you the new work is your boss....then I'd make an exception to all of the above.
