Can anyone provide resources with regard to estimating software video

I worked on a video project once that took over eight hours per finished minute and others that were done in half the time. It all depends on the professional level you wish to attain, the skill of the editor, the speed of your equipment and how prepared you are prior to starting the project. With that said, I also agree with John, no matter how much time you estimate it will take, double or triple it and you may get close. Even a little 3-D Quicktime project I was involved in at my last employer took the better part of three days to shoot the images (32 in all), edit them for conformity (even with a light tent we had color/shadow variations), put it all together then test and upload it to the website.

Then again, I'd do another video in a heartbeat.
