Hey folks,
I don't know about other states, but I know lawyers in Texas are hiring
Technical Writers/Editors due to Plain English laws. A couple of my peers work in
this field.
Like any form of technical writing, it requires a focus on the audience. In
this case, they are writing extremely tedious, precise concepts for a
high-school level (at best) audience. This "technical"--being "legal" rather than
"scientific"--writing is as valid a Tech Comm career as a Technical Writer who
revises policies for a business.
