Subject: Video editing software

My wife needs to prepare videos of patients for inclusion on a
conference CD. She specifically needs to mask their faces (could
be à la Court TV blue dot or just a black circle--doesn't
matter). Do you know of any video editing software that she can
use on her late model Sony laptop (Windows XP SP2) to edit MPEG
video and that has such a feature?
For bonus points, it would be good if the software could also
take MP4 input.

She has been to search and download sites, but feature lists are
vague and the one "30-day free trial" she did download announced
that the trial was expired and she couldn't use it. The company
responded politely to her inquiry but said there was no way to
solve that particular problem.

Thanks,

Dick
