Merriam-Webster 11
Chicago, esp. 15th which has a lot more about electronic publishing
Microsoft Manual of Style 3rd edition
HTML and XHTML: The Definitive Guide, Musciano (O'Reilly)
Managing your Documentation Projects, Hackos (Wiley)
Handbook of Technical Writing, Brusaw et al (St. Martin's)
FrameMaker 7: The Complete Reference, O'Keefe and Loring (Osborne)
Dilbert and the Way of the Weasel, Adams (Harper)

The first two are absolutely necessary. The others are good to have,
esp. Musciano if you plan to do HTML-based help. Hackos helps you fit
into the typical IT environment, which usually does a lot of planning.
Brusaw is a good adjunct to Chicago, and is alphabetized. O'Keefe saves
the day for FM. Microsoft is priceless in a Windows shop. Dilbert will
keep you sane.
