I encoutnered a lot of stupidity like this right when I was finishing grad school. All of a sudden I was miss popularity with the recruiters. If the price was right ...and I was psychic.

Finally decided "To heck with them." I gave 'em my Magic Number and if it was too high I noted my education/background and ended the conversation politely.

At least twice recruiters called me back with better deals.

Sometimes, you just gotta let it go.
