To me language is a bit like driving (bear with me!) - getting from A to
B.

In the big cities, following the rules (highway code, traffic signal,
good driving practice etc.) gets you there quickly (OK relatively!) and
safely - just as good grammar etc get the message across correctly.

Off-road driving is a bit like speech - free expression and you usually
get where you want to be!
