In my new position, I've been assigned to evaluate the installation guide
and make any recommendations as to how the document can be more usable.
Before I begin to write recommendations for the existing guide, I was
wondering have any of you created an online installation guide (for example,
a Win Help system with field-level context sensitivity that is accessed
within the installation wizard) oppose to the traditional hard copy
installation guide. If so, how did users react to this type of guide? Did
management have to be persuaded to go with an online guide oppose to a hard
copy? If so, what were some of your arguments that won them over?
TIA,
Ashaki
