Just for laughs, I looked at Monster, and now I do.  In
fact, I've actually had some dealings with them in the past.
A quick look at the current job listings on their website
shows openings for a senior medical writer and a 
technical writer supervisor, both of which have the 
higher level requirements one might expect for a more
"professional" level communicator (bachelor to doctorate,
technical background in medical/pharma, project mgmt,
etc.) as well as the admin/writer.  So they do know the 
difference between a "technical technical writer" and a 
"glorified secretary," and have openings for two of the 
former and one of the latter.
