Hi,

The software company I work for wants to translate its GUI, online help
and training materials into French (Canadian). I would like to start
contacting vendors and consultants for quotes and proposals.

I'm comfortable with the general issues around translation (e.g.
repitition, industry jargon) but I don't have experience with GUI
translation.

The product is enormous, with literally hundreds of forms and thousands of
interface elements. Is that the metric a translator uses to determine the
scope of the project?

I'd like to understand the issues around GUI translation before getting
quotes, just to establish a baseline against which I can compare the
proposals.

Thanks for any info you can provide.
Jim
