Sort of. Manuscripts generally run about 400 words on a double-spaced 8.5x11 sheet, while the "industry standard" for a book is 5.5x8.5. Of course, if you are writing for a
coffee-table sized publication or a direct-to-paperback
publication, the ratios will be different. Always specify
what type of page will be the basis for billing if you are
working on a per-page basis.

Is the concept of "2 finished manuscript pages to 1 book page" a frequent
or the common technical publishing industry practice?
