Hi Greg,

I'm afraid you won't find any one "standard" because you have to set the
standard that is desired by your company. You will have to create a user
manual template, using styles, etc. that will produce a standardized and
consistent set of documents according to the needs of your company.

You may want to hire a professional Technical Writer (forgive me if I
misread your position), and consult a lawyer where safety issues are a
concern.

Best of luck,

Vicky Moorman

Hello

I work for a commercial kitchen equipment manufacturer that is trying to
get a little more professional with its user documentation.

A typical product would be a refrigerator or food warmer.

I am dazed and confused searching for relevant standards for user
documentation. The equipment is very simple to use--mostly, we are talking
on/off and some maintenance. So that's easy to cover; but I want to make
sure we comply with standards for safety and hazard cautions, warnings.

Does anyone have a good reference point? My searches for "user
documentation" keep landing me in software-land.

Many thanks
