Sorry to chime in with something of an off-thread response, but we're looking
at AuthorIT (as an XML solution), and something came up last week that we're
wondering how to deal with.

It came up last week that AuthorIT does not have an off-the-shelf solution to
produce PDFs, in fact the indication we had was that the PDF workflow involved
saving first to Word, and then producing the PDF from there. (UYeechhh!) and
that fixing all of the numbering, bulleting, etc anomolies inherant to the Word
workflow were still issues.

The potential for relief from all of the headaches is one of our major
motivators for considering a new platform. XML is indeed the goal, but we
thought we'd be finally free of the problem set that endemic to the Word
world.

Is this (saving first to Word before producing a PDF) really how it's done?

Thanks,
