There's a very practical reason for this: in Hollywood, scripts are
constantly being photocopied. Brads keep the pages bound tightly, but easily
separated to go through the copy machine. And the hapless intern who does
all the copying saves time and effort by only having to undo two brads, not
three..... :-)
