An interesting post!

There is a third phenomenon subsumed in the analysis...the language is
constantly evolving, usually moving from more complex to simpler
constructs.

To pick up on the German thread from yesterday...this may also be the
precursor to more "welding" of words together into combinations so
that English may be moving in the direction of German in this regard.
