But what guides you in formulating questions and
examining proceses? What prodes you along in this all
important questioning/examining phase?
Part of what makes Data Flow Diagrams so unique is
that, properly used, they actually guide you in
formulating questions to ask and rigorously examining
processes. Data Flow Diagrams do not follow
questioning and analysis - they guide one through
questioning and analysis. That is a hugh thing! And
only DFDs do this.
David Neely:
Before the diagram you must learn the questions to
ask--and those questions may vary from situation to
situation.
Tony Markos:
If you don't need the diagrams to quide you in
questioning, then, in the main, you don't need diagrams.
