Um... since studies have shown that lefties are way more accident-prone, maybe only the really smart ones make it past childhood.

Not only am I left-handed, but half of my tech writing team is also
left-handed, the majority of the executive staff, and a whole lot more
people here besides. I have never been in an environment with so many
lefties. I have also never worked with so many really smart people. I
might be slightly biased %^), but it has always seemed to me that
lefties *had* to be a lot smarter than the average bear just to cope in
a right-handed world.
