<<I interviewed for a contract and the client wanted to know If I had errors
and omissions insurance. I didn't and turned the contract down for other
reasons. Does anyone have any experience with this type of insurance? Are
you finding more and more clients are asking for it?>>

This insurance is usually asked for by large companies which may have
preferred vendor programs. It is called Errors & Omissions or Professional
Liability insurance. It is provided by independent insurance agencies who
should know where to source it (Allstate, for instance, didn't carry it when
I needed to get it).

Another time you might see the requirement is when you respond to a bid.
They ask to see a "certificate" which the insurance agent prints up that
proves you are covered. Usual coverage is for $1m in damages which could
arise out of an error in documentation or training materials.

I was just asked for evidence of this insurance this week, so maybe
something is up! :)
