> A Mensa test exists of three different tests:

Not necessarily. You can get into Mensa with a high
score on any of various tests you might have taken
(at one time even including the SAT). If rather than
providing a reputable score that you've already achieved,
you opt to take a test administered by Mensa, then the
test you get is whichever your local Mensa prefers.

Over here in Israel-- and, I hear, in an increasing
number of places-- the idea of testing verbal ability
is shrugged off as culturally biased. Here, Mensa uses
a test consisting wholly of pattern recognition: given
a sequence of three diagrams, which of the following
should logically be the fourth diagram? It's called a
Raven test and it consists of thirty-six questions,
all that exact type. Nothing else, just pattern
recognition pure and spare. I guess it could be
considered a stark Raven test...
