Get your feet wet with one of the free packages that includes hosting,
like Blogger (http://www.blogger.com.) If you're sensitive about the
Whole World reading your work-related blog, you can password-protect
it and give the password to the people who need it.

Blogger is reasonably full-featured, and the experiment will cost you
nothing but time (warning - potentially a *lot* of time!).

If you find that the experiment is a success and you need more
horsepower/more features for some reason, you can always upgrade to a
package like Movable Type later on.
