I'm a little surprised, too. I'm more likely to use "enter" than "type";
after all, user disability aside, the user may be pasting in the
information rather than typing it.
I am also more likely to say "choose" or "select" than "enter" when I'm
writing about combo or list boxes. (I don't have any real rationale for
that; it's just personal whim.)
