Hi there,
For the RoboDemo users out there: Have you heard the latest?
They're "phasing out" RoboDemo and "phasing in" something named
Captivate, which is effectively an upgraded RoboDemo. (It contains about
the number of new features, etc. that I would expect in a RoboDemo 6.)
I have inquired about whether or not users who purchased support
packages will be entitled to a free version, as we would have received
it free if they had simply elected to call it RoboDemo 6 instead of
creating something "new". (On their products page, the only information
about upgrades is that both RoboDemo 4 AND 5 users are eligible for a
special price of $299. It doesn't mention support package customers at
all. By the way -- why should version 4 users be eligible for the same
price as version 5 users?)
I haven't gotten a reply from Macromedia yet, but I thought I would
mention it to anyone else who is interested. I truly feel that the
support package customers are entitled to it. Therefore, if the answer
is no, I think we should let them know how we RD users feel about that
as group. (Especially in light of the recent launch, purchase, and
immediate cancellation of the RH for FM program, we as the customers
need to let them know that we don't consider this an OK way to do things.)
