Yes, that would be my opinion. One exception: if you're working in an academic
setting (research institute, university, etc.), having an advanced degree in almost
any field will tend to enhance your value in the eyes of management and the rest
of the staff, regardless of whether it actually enhances your ability to do the work.
Otherwise, I would recommend supplementing your BA or BS with complementary
education, i.e., if you have a BA in English, Journalism, etc., do your post-grad
work in the technical field and if you have a BS in a tech field do the post-grad
work in communications.
