(Tried to post last night but forgot about the repeated text issue.)

HATT and other good Yahoo groups not withstanding, my biggest frustration with Yahoo Groups is the search (in)capability. What kind of list would we have if we had such a pathetic search tool that Whirlers everywhere were deprived of the "check the archives" response???? LOL!

Seriously, Rays, you've built a great community here. It will be interesting to see what sort of transition comes out of it. It's very funny that so many posters have gone straight to the issue of tools, even though it's not broken, it just needs new stewardship. I don't have much constructive to add to that thanks, except to say that there are numerous resources and examples of online communities going through such transitions. The Framers list, HATT, www. pinecam.com, various sites run by Derek Powazek (www.fray.com, www.designforcommunity.com), who also wrote a book on communities. Many of these transitions are accompanied by drama, I guess because change is hard. Hopefully this one will be relatively drama free. After all, change and renewal are positive, too.
