Feels a bit odd replying to my own message!

Thanks to David and Tom for their advice.

It seems that the problem was, in fact, that for some - unbeknown to me -
reason MSWord started looking for the PDFMaker.dot in a different
location! This meant that I no longer had the 2 icons on my toolbar, and I
was unaware that a 'straight' print to pdf using 5.0 does not retain
linkages.

So, a quick search, copy and paste of the PDFMaker.Dot and all is well in
my little world again.

Thanks.

PS. The Adobe User-to-User help forums, seem to me, be the most 'clunky'
over engineered, user unfriendly, forum host that I have come across in a
long time.
Now, all go and say a little prayer of thanks to the Rays at least one
night a week!
