Sharon Burton asked of visual learners:
What I am wondering is if you visual learners out there would like to see an example report as well?
-----------------------------
Speaking as a visual learner, I say stick 'em in. The examples will provide a milestone of sorts to measure what the user is supposed to have against what they actually ended up with.

-----------------------------
And if I show example reports, do I show them in the chapter in place, thus making each topic that talks about a report pretty long (even if I shorten the example) or do I put them at the end of the chapter or ?
-----------------------------
Put each example in place. If you're creating online help of some kind, you can stick a thumbnail of the report into the topic that opens a full-size image of the example in a separate window. We do that with our report examples.

The one thing I would caution, though, is that you choose your examples carefully and that explain very carefully any variations that may show up between the example and what the user will actually get. One of the problems with examples and visual learners (at least with this visual learner) is that I rely on the picture more than the words and if there is something different between the example and what I get I am confused for a couple of seconds before I realize I need to actually read something. :-)
