If you and all your co-workers agree on YOUR definition and not your boss'
definition, then I think a persuasive meeting is in order. I agree with your
definition of a lead writer, and ability to document complex stuff covers
only a small fraction of what I perceive a lead to be able to do. If
everyone but your boss is on the same page, then a meeting is definitely in
order. There's obviously a very strong conflict of interest between the
group and the manager, and that is a very, very bad situation in the making.
