A guide like John proposed would be VERY pertinent to many Windows
installers. Nothing is more irritating than sitting down to do an install,
getting halfway (or further) through, and then being asked for some arcane
piece of information that you don't have handy or can't get at because
your system is locked up by the installer.

Then, how about an installer that requests all required information before
doing anything else? And that then gives you an estimated time of
completion so that you don't have to babysit the bloody thing to just
click continue or answer the next mundane question.
