When hiring managers post their job listings on sites like monster.com,
etc. and it lets you submit your resume through that web site, if you
don't include a cover letter will your resume even get looked at?

My son is an ace programmer, and is often hired on the basis of his resume alone. If he does include a cover letter, it is a T-letter (http://www.raycomm.com/techwhirl/employmentarticles/tletter.html).

I am an ace technical writer. If I don't include a cover letter (generally a T-letter), I seldom hear back from a recruiter.

Your mileage may vary.
