Which is exactly why I don't give ANY specific details on why a gig
ended...if you don't give anything to base an opinion on, an opinion
cannot be created.
I simply say the position evolved into something different from when I
first started there. If pushed, I'll reply that I'd rather not go into
details, but I can supply three references from it. That usually takes
care of the thought that perhaps I was canned because of performance.

a job interview. If you've been selected for consideration, then your
prospective employers have already decided that your position *does*
produce enough value to "justify the cost" of filling it where you are.
