Re: "DO NOT COOK"?
The company
would probably welcome the information and may decide on their own to add a
message along the lines of "IMPORTANT! Cooking this product will make it
inedible." (future tense!)

What's wrong with, "IMPORTANT! Cooking this product makes it inedible" (present tense)? In fact, what's wrong with the original, simpler, shorter, lower grade level, "DO NOT COOK!"?
