Tell them you'll accept their definition of technical
writing when they accept your directions on how to do
legal writing.

Seriously, do the lawyers sign your paycheck or fill
out your annual evaluation? If not, tell them you'll
incorporate their input on trademarks and things of
that sort, and the rest is none of their business.
