That's if your class clown doesn't want to look at a career in humor.

Better strategy:

Have him look at professions where humor is a core competency, and see if he
finds a ole for him there.
There are back-office humor roles too, as scriptwriting for sitcoms, movies,
stand-up comedians, etc.

These are also serious and viable professions and going by the mood in the
market, there's going to always be a need for people who can turn your
everyday issues into something you can laugh at.
