Excel 2000 question

I've got an Excel 2000 spreadsheet that was exported from Access 2000 in Win
XP.

*Every* cell with imported text begins with an apostrophe, which is needed
only for numbers-as-text. I'd like to remove the unneeded apostrophes.

Find-and-Replace doesn't do it, nor does formatting the cells as Text, nor
does clearing the "Transition navigation keys" check box in
Tools|Options|Transitions.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dan Goldstein
