Subject:RE: Linking Visio Drawings to Word Documents From:Robert_Johnson -at- percussion -dot- com To:"techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 8 Jan 2004 09:09:49 -0500
Many thanks to John Dent (John Dent <jdent -at- liberty -dot- com -dot- au>), who suggested
the following procedure:
In Visio, select the page
group the drawing (Ctrl+G)
and copy it (Ctrl+C)
In Word Edit|Paste Special
Select "Microsoft Visio Object"
Select "paste link"
Click OK
This process does not use the LINK field code, but the correct Vision
drawings are pasted into my document and linked. The only caveat seems to
be that I must keep Word closed while I'm editing the drawing and I must
remember to group the drawing again when I am finished modifying it in
Visio. If I ungroup the drawing while I have Word open, the link seems to
break and I have to reinsert the drawing.
Thanks again John!
