Andrew Plato posted the ten things a tech writer should do, maybe he could post it again, or you could dig it up in the archives. The subject was (I have the post hanging on my board) "10 things all tech writers should do." I have it dated as Tuesday, April 1, 2003. I don't think that they are necessarily things you want to dive right into, but there are certainly the things that should consume any free time, and any research time. Learn about them, then implement them. If you really want to live on the edge, implement them and learn about them at the same time.

Who would like to have beers with Andrew Plato, Dick Margulis, Steve Hudson, and Keith Cronin and talk about anything other than tech writing. I owe them beers for their posts over the last two years...for the laughs, and for the advice.
