Is an HCI just a kind of HMI?

Subject: Is an HCI just a kind of HMI?

I'm trying to get a fix on the difference, if any,
between Human-Computer Interface (HCI) and Human-Machine
Interface (HMI). Of course not all machines are computers,
but where a computer is concerned is the HCI the same as
the HMI? Or is the HCI more a matter of screens and
paradigms while the HMI is more a matter of ergonomics?
Or what?

Do you consider that a difference exists? And if you do,
do you find that others agree on the difference?

Thanks and season's greetings
