Fortunately, you can indeed upgrade to the most recent version from just
about any previous version, and for next to nothing in software terms
(something like US$99).
When I said No you cannot upgrade, what I was thinking of was that PageMaker will not let you migrate files created in Version 4 forward to Version 7 without intervening versions installed. So you definitely don't want to install Version 4 and do anything with it. As to whether Adobe will let you go straight from 4 to 7 for $99, I think Geoff may be incorrect (a rare event). Then again, I may be incorrect (not such a rare event).
