Gosh, I hope not. I've been trying to use InDesign (2.0) recently to do my
holiday newsletter (after years of doing many layout-intensive documents in
PageMaker--since version 4) and I'm finding it a design that is more
frustrating than FrameMaker. No story editor. Creating runarounds for
odd-shaped graphics. No preview when designing paragraph styles.
Thing is, I tried going "back" to PageMaker (7.0), but when I dropped in a
.GIF file wiht a transparent background, it displayed and printed with a
gray background.
It'd be interesting to see how a design could be cobbled together that
combines features of both intricate page layout and structured information.

I got lost. "XML-based workflow?"
