You didn't mention the project duration.. does your agreement have an ending
date? or a page count?

$3 does sounds a little low for the US. But if your agreement is relatively
short-term, I'd say just do it. Turn it around quickly, deliver it promptly
and in a neat package, then when your agreement expires either bump up the
rate, or walk away.

On the other hand, $3 is not so bad as long as you don't consider it your
day job. Think of it as moonlighting for supplemental income instead, and it
sounds a lot better. If you can do ten pages a night in about an hour or so
before you turn in, that's ~$600/month you didn't have before. But if it is
demanding enough to interfere with your day job, then it's not worth it.

Sounds like a cool project though... sounds like you are dealing with an
offshoring firm that doesn't have inhouse English skills... Nice work
getting this business contact! Maybe you can run with it and they will refer
you to other similar firms. I'd take the job just to get some networking
going in that market.
