Cool -- You can do this in Windows, although technically you'd use the
MS-DOS prompt. I Googled a bit to find the following at
ComputerHope.com's list of MS-DOS commands (in particular:
http://www.computerhope.com/dirhlp.htm#03).

Click Start - Programs - Accessories - Command Prompt.
At the C:\ prompt, type cd and the desired directory name, then press
Enter.
Type DIR > myfile.txt, then press Enter.
Open Windows Explorer, navigate to the desired directory and open
myfile.txt.

You don't get a whole lot of info (just filenames, byte size,
last-modified dates), but you can use switches with the DIR command to
print more directory info.

To clarify, for any who are scratching their heads at my post, I'm
referring
to creating a list of the files that are contained in a directory.
