Hi, can anyone help me with this? I'm trying to create a PDF document from a
Word file. The method I'm used to using (in FrameMaker) is this:
* Create a PostScript file (a *.ps file).
* Create a PDF from the .ps file.
Unfortunately, with Word, something funky happens when I try to create the
.ps file. After I choose a printer, click "print to file," then click OK, and I
go to the dialog box that asks me to name the document, Word won't let me
create a .ps file type. That is, I can name the file anything I want, but the
"Save as type" drop down menu offers only two options -- "Printer files" and "All
files." I've tried just naming it "test.ps", but, while Word lets me name the
document that, the document doesn't appear to be a true .ps file. (Adobe
doesn't recognize it as a .ps file type. It shows up as a "PRN" file type.)
I can still create a PDF from it, but it's a flawed PDF -- none of my hot
links become PDF hot links. Can anyone help? I'm working with Word 2000 and
Acrobat 4.
