Subject:Word Index Phantom Entries and a comment on STC From:Eisbruchs -at- aol -dot- com To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Mon, 21 Apr 2003 07:25:59 -0400
Hi,
Like Carol Gilbert, I'm also frustrated by
Word Index Phantom Entries. I
spent about an hour over the weekend trying to
get rid of one such bothersome index entry. I thought
of posting a question here about it, but hesitated
for some reason. Then I saw Carol Gilbert's question.
I look forward to any suggestions on this problem.
Also, I'd like to comment on a previous thread.
Reading some of the critical posts about the STC in the
past few weeks has caused me to reflect on how much
I have enjoyed, learned from, and otherwise
benefited from that
organization over the years. I've
been an STC member since 1990; I'm currently a member of the SE Michigan chapter.
I attended an Ann Arbor area STC networking lunch a few weeks ago that was great. Having recently lived
in The Netherlands for 6 months, I very much enjoyed
an article
in the most recent Intercomm about what it's like to
work as a technical writer there. I attended a
joint STC/ASTD (Training and Development)
meeting within the past 2 weeks and found it
stimulating and worthwhile.
