The STC has abandoned its Certification initiative. It could not get
support from a majority of the memberbership (for the idea of
certification, let alone for a detailed program) and it could not see
any way to fund a costly, on-going certification program.
Note: The above are my observations and interpretations from observing
STC conference sessions and reading official pronouncements
