My goodness.  Maybe my mind is in the gutter, but that IS what I was talking
about.  A quick visit to www.m-w.com tells me that at least I haven't
totally lost my mind (definition #3)

What IS the meaning of the term "bang" that you were talking about, if it's
not to risqué to post on a family-oriented message board?  I don't see any
other meanings that would fit with what the author was discussing.
