If you're looking for cheap and simple (and are working on Windows), then
you've already got it --> the Print Screen key and MS Paint. Press ALT +
Print Screen to capture the active window (instead of the entire desktop),
then CTRL + V to paste it into Paint. Edit a little, and you're done. It
doesn't have all the bells and whistles as other programs, but it works
just as well - used to be the only combination I had access to for
screenshots. Plus, MS Paint saves in JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and PNG formats
(at least in XP, what I have at work), so you're golden.
If you're looking for simple, you can't go wrong with what's already
included.
Good luck,
Amy Dohlman
